Costco Price:
$8.89 for 10 pizzas, 89 cents per pizzaPackaging and Preparation Remarks:
We saw these at one of our local Costcos in the bakery section and wanted to try them out. Each pizza is individually wrapped and consists of just the dough and the sauce. They don't need to be refrigerated until the plastic packaging is opened. I decided to host an impromptu pizza night with my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law as well so we picked up some additional toppings at our local grocery store (heavens knows we don't need a Costco sized package of pepperoni!).I found that the pizzas were small, diameter wise so we had to stack toppings several times with cheese as glue to get a reasonable amount of toppings on them. However, they bake very quickly even with 4 in the oven at the same time with extra toppings, about 7 minutes. Surprisingly, both my mother-in-law and I were quite full after the first pizza but the others enjoyed a second pizza. I was also worried that the sauce and dough would be quite plain or salty since they're pre-packaged but I found the flavors excellent and the crust wasn't dry.
These would be great for families with young kids since they can "do it themselves" but also the portion size is more realistic for them. I found it great for us since we have different food preferences so each person didn't have to compromise on what they wanted as toppings.
I will definitely consider getting these again for a fun get-together!
